Culture Connect Resources

Founded by an experienced educator with 15+ years of teaching in the U.S. and internationally, Culture Connect is grounded in the belief that diversity is a strength—and that representation and rigor can (and should) go hand in hand. I’ve taught diverse learners across the U.S.—from urban classrooms to rural schools and Native American communities. Internationally, I’ve worked in Palestine, Nicaragua, and Lesotho, including as a Peace Corps volunteer and ELL educator. I tutor K–8 students weekly, keeping me closely connected to what learners need. Whether I’m teaching one-on-one or designing a lesson, my goal is the same: create culturally rich, academically rigorous materials that build empathy, spark curiosity, and reflect the diversity of our world. My teaching style is relational, inclusive, and rooted in inquiry. I believe learning should feel both challenging and meaningful, so I design lessons that invite curiosity, encourage connection, and reflect real-world perspectives. I love using storytelling, discussion, and culturally responsive materials to help students think deeply, see themselves in the content, and expand their view of the world. Whether I’m teaching one-on-one or creating for the classroom, I aim to support both academic growth and human connection. When I’m not teaching or creating, you’ll find me outdoors with my husband and toddler—camping, hiking, or soaking up the Montana sky. We share our home with three playful cats. I’m inspired by nature, culture, and the belief that connection is at the heart of learning. That belief—our shared humanity across languages, borders, and stories—is what guides everything I create through Culture Connect.
