Engaging project to complete a scale drawing by dilating a candy wrapper – perfect for middle school or high school math. Students will calculate scale factor and visualize the similarities between an original shape and its dilation.

Project allows students to enlarge a candy wrapper using scale drawings.
👉 Students will be required to…
→ Measure the original candy wrapper & calculate area & perimeter.
→ Enlarge the candy wrapper by a scale factor of their choice (or teacher choice).
→ Measure the enlargement & calculate area & perimeter.
→ Reflect on the enlargement in comparison to the original wrapper.
Scoring rubric is provided for easy scoring. How-To Tutorial is provided through Google Slides to project for students to have step-by-step instructions along with video clips.
