Description

This engaging math activity is perfect for introducing pi. The digital escape room challenge is great for Pi Day or for discovering Pi before teaching the area of a circle.

This digital breakout is an introductory breakout to understanding pi. Students will use hyperlinked resources to understand the parts of a circle, identify the first 15-20 digits of pi, learn how pi is calculated, and recognize that pi and other numbers are classified as irrational numbers. Video links provide information to assist students in solving the locks to each puzzle. This team-building exercise will provide learning, problem-solving, and fun.

**The breakout would make a great addition to any Pi Day celebration OR to introduce pi for upcoming lessons using pi.**

If you have used digital breakouts before, all you will have to do is assign the link provided. The link is to a Google Site that holds the Google Form with the “locks” and the narrative for the breakout. Custom links are embedded within the Google Site to the clues.

⭐️ Clues can be found by solving 5 puzzles including:

★ Clicking on hyperlinks found within underlined text and pictures
★ Identifying parts of a circle
★ Identifying the first 15-20 digits in pi
