π§‘Β Why This Resource Was Created
This resource comes from both a linguistic and deeply personal place. I served as aΒ Peace Corps Volunteer in Lesotho, where I had the honor of teaching and learning in Sesothoβa language rooted inΒ community, connection, and cultural pride.
Through my travels across five African countries, I developed aΒ deep respect for the diversity, resilience, and richness of the continent. These country reports are my way of helping students explore Africa beyond stereotypesβthrough real stories, geography, traditions, and cultural contributions.
It’s important to me that classrooms have tools toΒ celebrate African nations with accuracy, curiosity, and care.
