🧑 Why This Resource Was Created

This resource comes from both a linguistic and deeply personal place. I served as aΒ Peace Corps Volunteer in Lesotho, where I had the honor of teaching and learning in Sesothoβ€”a language rooted inΒ community, connection, and cultural pride.

Through my travels across five African countries, I developed aΒ deep respect for the diversity, resilience, and richness of the continent. These country reports are my way of helping students explore Africa beyond stereotypesβ€”through real stories, geography, traditions, and cultural contributions.

It’s important to me that classrooms have tools toΒ celebrate African nations with accuracy, curiosity, and care.
