You’ve been clicking along teaching letters and sounds in whole group. You’ve benchmarked, given a diagnostic, added screener, and you have kids all across the spectrum of knowing a few letters to ready to jump into long vowels. HOW do you meet all the needs? You know small, targeted groups will help you intervene, but…again…HOW?

This Small Group Support Bundle is fully Science of Reading aligned and is created to support the scope and sequence of the UFLI curriculum. It is not endorsed by UFLI, nor does it include any UFLI material. It simply progresses in the same sequence of letter introduction as UFLI. So, if you use the UFLI Foundations curriculum, GREAT. This small group program is completely aligned for you. If you don’t use the UFLI Foundations curriculum, GREAT. This small group program is aligned in a very common and carefully crafted SOR sequence of letter introduction across curriculums. You may have to adjust a bit for a letter not introduced yet, but the flexibility of the program lends itself to any curriculum.

The Ready Read Small Group System is comprised of 7 components. Each component is rooted in the Science of Reading and has a place on Scarborough’s Rope-Word Recognition and Language Comprehension. You will encounter phonological awareness, decoding, sight recognition, vocabulary, and comprehension. Because I love clean lines and efficiency, each of the 7 components are color coded so you can easily grab what you need by color.

The ease of pacing through the 7 steps, with ALL components provided, keys where appropriate, and teacher’s guides throughout, will bring you the RELIEF you have been seeking from the lack of training or support from your school or district. If you are lucky enough to have great support and knowledgeable curriculum leaders, count your blessings! Component 1: Fluency Flip

• 26 Grapheme (letter) cards with the lower case letter
• 26 Phoneme (sound) cards with a key word and the sound
• Cards are 2.5″ x 4″-so small and mighty
• 5 vowel cards with the short vowel symbol (breve)
• 5 vowel cards without-just the letter
• Each card has:
  • Front facing student view with the letter or the key word/sound
  • Back facing teacher view with the answers students should say
    • Note: Print front to back by flipping on the long side.

• • Hole punch indicator if you want to put them on rings
  • Set labeling in top right corner for easy organization when adding more grapheme/phoneme sets.
• Teacher’s Guide with suggestions and ideas for use

Component 2: Vital Vowels

• 5 levels-each level builds on the last beginning with short a and short i and advancing until all 5 vowels are used.
• Level 1 includes short a and short i
• Level 2 includes short a, i, and o
• Level 3 includes short a, i, o and u
• Level 4 includes 2 varying games of all 5 vowels

Each activity in this pack includes the breve symbol for the short vowel sound as well as charts without the breve symbol.

• A blank chart is included for each activity to create your own targeted instruction to differentiate and customize. Slide it into a clear cover and write your own.
