Description
Looking for a “sweet” game to introduce & review beginning rhythms? DONUT DASH is a fun and effective way to reinforce note values, music patterns, and steady tempo.
To play DONUT DASH, students select a card, determine if the rhythm is in 3/4 or 4/4 time, then claps the rhythm. After the student correctly claps the rhythm, the student rolls the dice and proceeds to move the number of “donuts”.
Teachers can choose to use only the 4/4 cards or only the 3/4 cards. However, I have found that combining all the rhythm cards together really forces my students to be able to change meters quickly and do well!
This is a fantastic game to play during those last few minutes of a private lesson or can be used in a music center in a classroom as well as in a group lesson! DONUT DASH will be a game students will ask to play multiple times!
