Then this is a great activity for you!
This packet has several options that you can use around or on Valentines Day and it is related to psychological principles that are commonly covered in most AP Psych, AICE Psych, Honors Psychology or Regular Psychology classes. However, if you need a Valentines Day activity, this can also work for any subject area if you make it a theme “Holiday” activity. This is also excellent for social emotional learning in study hall.
In this packet you shall receive the following:
1) Vocab list of words that you can assign your students to independently research. They can define the word and apply it to their lives. Answer key is provided for you.
2) A “breakdown” summary (key points) of the video in detail.
3) 15 short answer TED TALK questions.
4) Answers to the Short answer TED TALK questions.
5) A Self esteem / Authenticity Questionnaire to share with students
6) The rubric score guidelines to Self esteem Authenticity Questionnaire.
7) Valentines Questionnaire/ Sharing ideas to promote discussion
Suggested Lesson Plan:
· Give the Word list to students to research and define terms and apply to their life. (15-20 Minutes)
· Go over the word list and discuss their terms and applications (answer key is provided for you) (10 minutes-15 minutes)
· Watch the 20-minute TED TALK by Billy Ward (20 minutes)
· Give students the 15 question SHORT ANSWER quiz (with TED TALK or after)
· Go over their answers with the key provided. (10 minutes)
· End the lesson with a Self-esteem /Authenticity Questionnaire (5 minutes)
· Scoring guide provided
