Guided by Giggles: Designs, Learning Tools, and More

Hi, I’m Jolene! I’m a licensed counselor, a proud mom, a bonus mom, and someone who is wholeheartedly embracing the beautiful chaos that comes with raising a family. With a career centered around helping kids and families, I’ve had the privilege of guiding many through their challenges, but nothing has been more life-changing or rewarding than being a mom myself.

​I’m a mom to three amazing kids: a toddler boy with the wildest sense of adventure, an endless supply of hugs, and a knack for solving problems (or getting into trouble), and twin baby girls who light up my world with their giggles and smiles. Being a twin mom has taught me patience in ways I never thought possible. It’s also taught me how to celebrate each child’s uniqueness and to roll with the inevitable messes and tears (because, let’s face it, there are always tears).

​In addition to my biological kids, I’m also a bonus mom to a wonderful pre-teen who’s been in my life for over half of his life. Although he’s only with us during the summer months, I cherish every second spent with him, watching him grow into an amazing young man. And let’s not forget our two dogs; one’s a fluffy lovebug, always ready for snuggles, while the other, well, is a dog with the soul of a cat, preferring naps and the occasional grumpy side-eye.

As a counselor, I’ve had the privilege of working with kids and families in a variety of settings: schools, hospitals, treatment centers, and outpatient care. I’ve helped children and their families navigate challenges, discover new coping strategies, and advocate for their needs. There is no greater reward than witnessing a child or family grow stronger through difficult times.

But in the whirlwind of life with three young kids, I decided to transition from full-time work to being a full-time mom. While it was a significant shift, it was one that I don’t regret for a second. These early years with my children are fleeting, and I want to soak up every moment. But my passion for helping others hasn’t changed; it’s only evolved. And that’s how Guided by Giggles was born.
