Hi, I'm Betsy. If you struggle to get your 3rd through 8th grade students excited about grammar and writing, I am here to help! It's time to say goodbye to grammatically incorrect sentences and dry, formulaic writing pieces, and instead say hello to low-prep, no-stress writing activities and resources that even the most reluctant of writers will love. As a published romance author, elementary school teacher, and teacher consultant with the National Writing Project, my research-based, teacher-tested, student-approved writing resources are built upon creativity, peer communication and collaboration, and critical thinking/reflection. In my 20+ years in the classroom, I have taught nearly every grade from 1st through 8th and have served on nearly every committee there is: AVID team, Equity team, VAPA team, ELA Curriculum Design team, School Site Council, and have most recently served as an induction coach for new teachers. I bring all my experience as a teacher and writer to each of my resources in order to provide you with easy to use, engaging activities that actually work!
After over 20 years in the classroom, I have taught nearly every grade from 1st – 8th and every subject, though writing is by far my favorite to teach. As a published author, TPT seller, and teacher consultant with the National Writing Project, my focus is on narrative writing and revision strategies. My goal? To make writing (and grammar) fun!
