I taught in the classroom for over 12 years, primarily focusing on early literacy. Those years gave me firsthand experiences with the joys and challenges of helping students grow as readers and writers. Now, as an instructional coach, I have the privilege of supporting teachers by sharing strategies, modeling lessons, and providing resources that make instruction more effective and engaging. My teaching style is structured, supportive, and hands-on. I believe in explicit instruction, guided practice, and plenty of opportunities for students to apply what they’ve learned in meaningful ways. Whether I’m teaching students or coaching teachers, I focus on clarity, engagement, and practicality – helping learners and educators feel confident, equipped, and successful. Some of my proudest moments as an educator have come from watching reluctant readers blossom into confident ones and celebrating alongside families when their children reach milestones once thought out of reach. As a classroom teacher, I was recognized by colleagues and administrators for my leadership in literacy and my ability to create resources that boosted student achievement. Now, as a coach, some of my “shining moments” come from seeing teachers gain confidence and bring new strategies to life in their own classrooms. I hold a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and have specialized training in literacy instruction and the Science of Reading. These trainings include Orion-Gillingham’s “Phonics First,” Open Court curriculum, Neauhaus Structured Literacy, and LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling). My education and ongoing professional learning allow me to design resources that are research-based, classroom-tested, and supportive of both teachers and students.
