Hi, I'm Natalie and welcome to Scaffolding in the Mountains! Just like climbing a mountain, mastering math concepts takes one step at a time—and every student starts their journey at a different point. I believe in meeting students where they are, building their confidence by reinforcing essential skills from previous grades before guiding them to grade-level success. At Scaffolding in the Mountains, you’ll find intentional, well-structured lessons designed to support struggling learners while challenging all students to reach new heights. My resources blend scaffolding, review, and engaging practice to help students make meaningful progress. Whether you're looking for differentiated practice, interactive games, or step-by-step lessons, you can trust that my materials are thoughtfully designed to make math more accessible and effective for all learners. Let's help every student climb their own math mountain—one skill at a time!
Natalie is a dedicated educator with 18 years of experience inspiring students to see themselves as capable mathematicians. She began her career as a high school math teacher, later served as a math coach and interventionist, and now teaches 3rd grade.
Natalie earned her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maine at Farmington and a Master of Education in K–12 Studies from Capella University. She also completed the Maine Math Coaching Program and is certified in Gifted and Talented Education.
Her store features ready to use math resources, both print and digital, that meet students where they are and help them build toward grade level success. Natalie creates materials to make math more accessible, meaningful, and stress free for teachers and students alike.
When she’s not teaching or creating, she enjoys hiking with her dogs and reading a good book.
